In to-days world where human values are marketable commodities, it is hard to find a personality that combines philanthropy, spirituality and revolutionary ideas to provide space for all classes of people even for the people who are struggling in the lowest strata of social order. Born in a poor family at village Kalarabank of district Cuttack, Orissa, Dr. Achyuta Samanta lead a difficult life losing his father at the age of four. Despite of all the adverse conditions his genuinity and will power drove him to go ahead in life and set up KIIT, a world class University in Orissa. As a social commitment he has also established Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS), a residential institution exclusively for the poor tribal children where 10,000 tribal children are pursuing education with free provision of food, health care, accommodation and all basic necessities. His vision and dream is not restricted to education and social work only, he has expanded it in the field of art, culture and literature. As a result of which, Kadambini Media Private Limited was established by him in July, 2000 to achieve the excellence in publication of Magazines, Books, production of Films and Audio Visual Programmes. He quotes, “Orissa is full of hidden talents in all fields. Our people are not inferior to anybody in the field of literature, art, commerce and technology. Only thing was lacking with us that we did not have proper platform for projecting ourselves and making our presence felt”. The Kadambini Media Pvt. Ltd. has become a platform for all such talents to come forward and show their creative ability and excellence to the world.

Iti Samanta, the youngest sister of Dr. Achyuta Samanta went through the similar situation in her childhood like her brother. She had a strong desire since her High School days to become a writer. Situation in the family compelled her to pursue Engineering education. But her strong will power brought her to the field of literature and she completed her Post Graduation in Oriya. She did her Master Degree in Mass Communication also. Her first short story collection ‘Tathapi’ written during her student career attracted readers attention. ‘Itibruti’ compilation of editorials written by her is the first ever book of this kind in Oriya. As a publisher of books and producer/director of movies she has proved her excellence by receiving many Awards. She has been nominated to several prestigious committees as honorary member. She has also been regularly participating in many seminars, discussions, TV shows and Radio talks related to art, literature, women oriented issues and social topics. She has turned the dream of the Founder, Dr. Achyuta Samanta into reality by her continuous effort and dedication as the Director of Kadambini Media Pvt. Ltd. and successful editor of ‘The Kadambini’. She has received numerous Awards from various restigious organisations for her achievement as an editor, publisher, writer, producer, organiser and social worker etc. She always comes up with innovative ideas and tries to implement the same through her brain child ‘The Kadambini’.
